TOURING CARAVAN PARKS
With more and more people in the UK investing in their own caravan, it
stands to reason that touring caravan parks will prove a popular destination
when the sun comes out.
And these days, touring caravan parks are not longer just a patch of
land where you can rest your caravan for the night. Now these caravan
parks come with swimming pools, luxury showers, children’s playgrounds
and lots more.
In most caravan and camping sites, you get the basic land pitch for your
caravan or motor home, along with electric hook-ups, a toilet and shower
block, washing facilities, chemical waste disposal, TV and telephone point,
and water, freezer and ice pack facility. For those of you heading deep
into the countryside, you’ll probably also find touring caravan
parks with a camp shop selling basic caravan accessories such as camping
gas, cleaning chemicals, buckets, bread and milk, etc.
Touring caravans, which are basically ones that can be attached to the
back of a car and towed to their destination, come in many shapes and
sizes, from the very basic to the extremely luxurious.
As well as a couple of beds, a table and seating area, touring caravans
come with a variety of accessories these days, including gas/electric-powered
refrigerator, stove, oven and grill, a shower and water heater, toilet
with removable disposal tank and flush-water tank, radio, TV aerial/satellite
dish, air conditioning and a CD player.
The main advantage of using a touring caravan park is that you can turn
up with your caravan or motor home with a moments notice and pitch it
overnight before heading off the next morning, or a few days later, to
explore another part of the UK. However, please bear in mind that caravan
parks tend to get very busy during the summer season so it may be worth
booking in advance to make sure you get a spot when you arrive.
